But there are challenges. They cost more than fossil fuels. Better tech and more supply are needed. Fuel crops should not here reduce food availability.
Even with these limits, biofuels offer real potential. They can be used without starting from zero. Plus, they give new life to waste materials.
Many believe they are just a bridge. However, they might be key for years to come. They are effective immediately while waiting for full electrification.
With global decarbonization on the agenda, the value of biofuels increases. They are not meant to compete with EVs or renewables, they complement the clean energy mix. If we fund them and improve regulation, biofuels could help transform transport worldwide
